Police say a small plane has crashed in southern Germany and killed two people who where on board.
Police spokesman Peter Hauke says the two-seater plane failed to gain enough altitude after taking off Saturday morning and clipped a tree, causing it to crash and catch fire near Konstanz.
Hauke says the two victims had been badly burned and could not immediately be identified.
The Puetzer Elster type aircraft was more than 40 years old. It was not stationed in Konstanz, and had been bound for the northwestern town of Dinslaken.
