ALBANY -- Forced to skate with a decimated defense, the Albany River Rats had to resort to smoke and mirrors -- and the greatest goaltending performance ever seen at Pepsi Arena -- but all they could come away with was one point Wednesday night.

That it all ended in a 2-1 overtime loss to first-place Hartford on Brad Smyth's goal with only 25 seconds left in overtime seemed an ignominious injustice to Rats' goaltender Frederic Henry, who set an all-time Albany record with 60 saves in a magnificent performance.
